Surrounded by a beautiful scenic recreational area, Rim Rock Ranch Resort is located in Old Station, California, 14 miles north of Lassen Volcanic National Park on Hwy. 44/89. Hat Creek, widely known for excellent trout fishing, is near by. Also within short distances are Subway Caves, McArthur-Burney Falls State Park, Thousand Lakes Wilderness, Caribou Wilderness Area, Pacific Crest Trail and several campground & picnic areas.

 

Excellent Trout Fishing ~ We are located on Hat Creek, with some of the best fishing in Northern California. Enjoy the nearby spring fed Pit River and the Fall River. For lake fishing, there are several lakes nearby. Baum Lake, Crater Lake, Lake Britton, and Battle Creek Reservoir provide great fishing. Inside Lassen Volcanic National Park, Manzanita Lake is for the catch-and-release fishermen. Guide service available.

 

Hiking and Sightseeing are two favorite pastimes among our visitors. For a beautiful trek into the mountain country, there are many hiking trails in the area. Lassen Volcanic National Park offers many tours. Also nearby are the Pacific Crest Trail, Spattercone Trail, and many others. Valuable information on these trails and other activities in the area is available at the Forest Service Visitors Center located in Old Station.

 

Golf  on the 18-hole championship Fall River Golf Course – open April to November.

 

Winter Sports are available at many nearby locations. Lassen Volcanic National Park has guided snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and Eskimo Pass boasts a great hill for sledding. Other activities include a Snowmobile Park and Shasta Ski and Board Park.

Accommodations

Rim Rock Ranch features ten housekeeping cabins, two motel-type units, a Bed & Breakfast Inn, and a small country store. Our cabins, established in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s, were built primarily for the hunter and fisherman. Cabins are complete with kitchens, utensils, dishes, full baths and bed linens. Towels are available for a small fee.

(Group cabins do not come with bed linens or towels.)
